Though Hope Appear Faceless

There is a deep darkness in my soul
Present when outer darkness falls
The clouds sometimes hide in the light
But just when I believe all is alright
The demons show their faces
There is a war waging for my soul
I feel its heat strongly and yet I am cold
What is the anger inside of me
That threatens the very hope I breathe?
When will Hope cease to be faceless??
There is a Love that will not let me go
Though often I feel naught of what I know
"Do not throw away your confidence,"
He calls. "You are growing in my likeness."
He who now tarries does not cower at this darkness
There is a Love who will not let me go
Who is stronger than the darkness of my soul
Who holds me fast though all Hell break loose
Who, in the face of death, said, "I do."
Press on, dear heart, till you see Jesus!

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:35-39
